Who Am I
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration, as well as a minor in Fine Arts. I will also be going on to collect my Master’s in Fine Arts in the near future.
Resumé
Inspiration
My name is Kain Hurst and I am an illustrator with an interest in mixed media to produce pieces that discuss the human condition and individuality. Through my visual development, I explore the ugliness of characters and environments and seek to show the beauty in them. My main interest is horror and I adore creating stories that tap into the natural morbid curiosity of humanity. I also like to show the parallels and juxtaposition between the complex, organic forms of the human body and industrial, mechanical imagery.
Education
Conflict, be it through confrontations between characters, between textures in mixed media, between the imagery itself, or just a simple dialogue; this is the soul of the art that I make.
